Cost absorption for nursing cases–non-cash benefits

Our professional nursing and assistance services are partly financed by your nursing care insurance. Every month, public health care provides care patients with a certain amount for nursing services carried out by an accredited care service company. This amount is used for so-called non-cash benefits, i.e. services regarding physical hygiene, diet, or housekeeping. The extent of your monthly amount depends on the grade of your need of care; the need for care is determined according to so-called care grades.

In care grade II, the independence and abilities of patients are are considerably impaired; public health care provides a monthly amount of 724 euros for professional care.

In care grade III, the independence and abilities of patients are are significantly impaired; public health care provides a monthly amount of 1.363 euros for professional care.

In care level IV, the independence and abilities of patients are are severely impaired; public health care provides a monthly amount of 1.693 euros for professional care.

Apart from that, a classification in care grade V is also possible. The independence and abilities of patients are are severely impaired with special need for nursing. In those cases, public health care provides a monthly amount of 2.095 euros.

Money instead of services–cash benefits

In case you do not want to commission a professional care service although you are assessed to one of the care grades, but would rather handle the care yourself or assign friends or relatives with the task, public health care pays you a so-called nursing allowance. The nursing allowance is supposed to be used for the nursing care. The extent of your monthly allowance depends on the care grade. However, in this case, public health care pays less then in case of choosing a professional care service.

In care grade II, the monthly allowance amounts to 316 euros.

In care grade III, the monthly allowance amounts to 545 euros.

In care grade IV, the monthly allowance amounts to 728 euros.

In care grade V, the monthly allowance amounts to 901 euros.

Benefits already from care grade I

Support will be available much earlier in the future. Persons who are assigned to care grade 1 will be those who do not yet require any considerable degree of support but, for example, require long-term care counselling, some adaptation of their living environment (for example, age-appropriate showers) or benefits in the area of general care. This will considerably widen the circle of persons who will be receiving long-term care benefits for the first time
